So, Las Vegas was pretty much our downtime for our trip… we had calculated this due to us not really having much “officially” planned. However, we found ourselves with PLENTY to do if we wanted!
We stayed at Caesar’s Palace. You may have heard of it? Haha… one of the strips original hotels, we loved being able to waltz the corridors of the Palace and appreciate all the Roman themed decor, statues and fountains.
Unlike NYC, where we were experiencing snow fall everyday, it was nice to see some sunshine and dress appropriately! I could finally pull out those cute heels I had been dying to wear. Although the day was warm, there was still an icy breeze, so I kept my jacket on hand in case I needed it whilst walking between hotels.
I was itching to wear my culottes again, after wearing them to the Wicked musical on Valentine’s Day, so I decided to go for a “nude” palette and keep my whole outfit very neutral. Blush tones, pinks, creams and whites go so well together… so I added a pop of colour with my leopard print shoes!
We loved exploring the various hotels located within walking distance on Las Vegas Blvd. It was pretty cool to check out all the different themed casinos and the entertainment they all offer. We particularly loved Caesar’s (so we are so glad we stayed there), and the Venetian was probably our next fave – followed by Paris and New York, New York and of course, the Bellagio.
The Cosmopolitan was stunning inside and was very trendy and pretty (a girls dream hotel), and Planey Hollywood was full of fun and great restaurants, although I imagine this is where a lot of the ‘not so innocent’ parties occur.
It was nice to just spend a day with no real activities locked in. We had seen a Cirque du Soilel show, Zarkana, the night we flew into Vegas, but because our flight was delayed we unfortunately, missed half the show. And due to us being in Vegas on a Monday and Tuesday, we found there weren’t many other good shows on that we wanted to see (as this seems to be their weekend, much like wedding coordinators, I must say).
But apart from our ‘casino hopping’ shenanigans, we really didn’t have much on our agenda, except to go out to cute little restaurants and enjoy the sunshine. Although Vegas itself was warmer, but still a little cold at nights, when you look out to the mountains (which was the beautiful view from our room, thanks to a complimentary upgrade to the Palace Tower), you could see the snowfall and the gorgeous mountain tops covered in snow by morning! That was beautiful… although it did make us miss the snow in NYC!
I hope you are enjoying my “filling in the blanks” posts from our holiday in the United States… there is still a lot more to come!
