A lot has changed since I did this “Sea Siren” shoot with Rachelle from Fox & Fire Photography, such as my hair colour… which is no longer an annoying mid-colour, but completely blonde! Yay, mission accomplished (check out the finished product over on my Instagram)!
Anyways, the purpose for this boho beach inspired shoot, was the second half of Rachelle’s uni assessment. Now if anyone knows me, they know that it is quite uncanny to find me casually strolling along the rocks near the ocean, over thousands of barnacles, slippery moss and shells, sensitive feet and all… but I have to say, I really did enjoy myself out here. In the unknown.
It was tranquil, quiet, still, with just a faint sound of the roaring waves in the distance. While I was concentrating on not falling over and making a fool of myself, Rachelle was happily snapping away. She managed to capture quite a few, somewhat natural looking, shots. Which I was super happy about…
Of course, I had gone shopping the day before to find the perfect outfit for the shoot, and I fell in love with this crimson silk maxi skirt from Dissh. It wasn’t long after that I found this cute little knitted sleeveless crop that went perfectly alongside the statement skirt.
I had been itching to get myself some midi rings, and found these beauties at Lovisa, including the boho feathers for my hair (which were on sale)!
We managed to find the most perfectly proportioned driftwood stick to attach out dream-catcher to, which just worked so well with the crashing waves in the background of the photos.
And although, I was in an awkward mid-colour hair stage, I have to say I am thrilled with the outcome of this shoot, and love the look and colour of the ocean and sea foam, which truly gives the images a “sea siren” feel…
If you’re based on the Sunshine Coast make sure you check out Fox & Fire Photography and book Rachelle in for your next family, couple, pet session… she really is the best!
