Clean hair is always best!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Natalie Ann Hair Care – S1 Powder (or Volumising Root Powder/Mousse)
Clear Elastic Bands
Hairspray (recommend a brush-out hairspray like Evo Builders Paradise)
Side part your hair, dust roots with Natalie Ann Hair Care – S1 Powder, tease and brush out ends.
To create volume near your crown, gather together the crown area and tease more for added volume and pin hair with a bobbi pin horizontally.
Grab a piece of hair from the right ear and drag it across to the left side of the head and pin.
Repeat on the right side and drag left.
HAIR STYLIST TIP: This sections the hair nicely to either side and that way there is no boring part down the middle. Nobody wants a boring straight part.
Leaving out some face framing piece, braid hair either side of the part, to the base of the neck.
Pull out the braid to make it wider and tie off with clear elastic bands.
Before starting the next braid, wrap a piece of hair around the band to hide it, then proceed to fishtail braid halfway down the existing hair.
To fishtail braid hair, separate into two vertical sections, take one piece from the left outer side and pull to the right section, then take one piece from the right outer side and pull to the left section.
Take small pieces at a time to show the texture and repeat until half way down the hair.
Wrap another piece of hair around the next clear band and continue your fishtail braid to the end.
Tie off your secondary fishtail braid with a small clear elastic hair band.
HAIR STYLIST TIP: If your hair is dark, use a dark brown or black hair band to blend in with your hair color.
Check your braid and pull at the fishtails to make them wider, larger and looser, as desired.
Repeat the same process on the other side of the part, being sure to wrap your pieces of hair around each hairband as you go.
Trust me this is easier to do now, than if forgotten later on.
Widening the braids as you go will also make for a nicer finish, and the braids will stay larger for longer.
Complete the braids all the way to the end of the hair, as before.
Curl any face-framing pieces of hair you wish to.
Set with hairspray.
